The company had information in various systems and was heavily relying on spreadsheets. This resulted in multiple versions being provided to the shopfloor and wrong spare parts sent to the Mine Sites. With the ERP system not interconnected to any other system, they had to deal with large amounts of duplicate parts stored and needing to be maintained.
Solution implementation contained a PLM rollout connecting the dispersed CAD landscape as well as gaining traction on the Job orders and status replacing most of the many spreadsheets. Downstream users got instant access to Released CAD files and documents without a need to have a dedicated Document Controller anymore to print and distribute the files.
Best Practice proven processes have been implemented and bespoke training was provided to every user based on role.
The company gained transparency throughout the Product Development Process. A big gain was the implementation of Job Management and the transparency gained with implementing a complete industry-proven PLM.
